Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: The Navnirman Yuva Chhatra Sangathan has called for an Odisha bandh (statewide shutdown) on the coming 28th, raising three major public issues — pollution in the Pradhu River, mismanagement in paddy procurement mandis, and alleged harassment by Tata Power, among others.
Under the leadership of State Convener M.D. Manwar Ali, car rallies and awareness campaigns were conducted at various places across Bhubaneswar city. Through the campaign, Manwar Ali appealed to the public to support the Odisha bandh in the interest of common people and requested that shops, markets, and vehicular movement remain closed on the day.
Meanwhile, the CPI(M) has extended its support to the bandh call. While essential services will remain operational on the day, vehicular movement is expected to remain suspended.
