Umarkot, 13th Nov 2025: A special Go Puja (cow worship) ceremony was organized on Thursday by the Gosampad Bikash Pratisthan (Cattle Resource Development Organization) at Mahima Alekh Go Dham in Ekamba. There is a long-standing tradition of worshipping the sacred cow (Gomata) on the occasion of Gosth Ashtami. Keeping this in view, the organization conducted the ritual this year as well.
At the beginning of the event, the sacred cows were bathed with turmeric water and offered chuda (flattened rice), jaggery, and ripe fruits. The priest, Pendara Mishra, performed the worship with the chanting of holy mantras and the application of aalati (ritual light offering) to the cows.
Before the puja, a meeting was held to discuss the purpose of the ceremony. Participants elaborated on the vital contribution of the cow (Gomata) to maintaining environmental balance.
