Bhubaneswar, 14th Nov 2025: The minimum temperature in Odisha is expected to remain normal. In the following 7 days, that is, from November 14 to 20, the night minimum temperature in Odisha, as well as in some regions of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, TeTlangana, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, is expected to be lower than normal, causing a feeling of cold. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, this is due to reduced atmospheric moisture and the influence of westerly winds bringing dry air from the northwest, which will further decrease nighttime temperatures.
Agricultural meteorology expert Professor Surendranath Pashupalak predicts that from Friday night, the cold will increase again in the state, and by Sunday night, mercury levels could drop by 3–5 degrees. In Rourkela, Turumunga, Baliguda, and Gajapur (Gajapati), temperatures may fall to around 12°C. In Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna, Jharasuguda, and Mohana, temperatures may drop to 14°C; in Bhubaneswar, around 18°C; and in Baleshwar, around 16°C. This cold is expected to continue in the state for the next two weeks.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has stated that in the next two days, the minimum temperature could fall below 15°C in places like Phulbani and Daringbadi, and there will be no significant change in temperatures. In the next three days, in various districts of Odisha, mercury may drop by 2–3 degrees. In the next 24 hours, light rain may occur at one or two places in southern Odisha. In the past 24 hours, light showers occurred at one or two places in Sundargarh and Kalahandi districts.
In Phulbani, the state’s minimum temperature has dropped to 13°C. Similarly, in Daringbadi it was 15°C, in Anugul 16°C, in Koraput 16.5°C, and in Sundargarh 16.6°C.
