Jeypore, 5th Nov 2025: Due to prolonged neglect and adverse working conditions faced by employees in the Education Department, they have repeatedly sought attention from the authorities. In this regard, Mr. Shashibhushan Dash, President of the Odisha State Un-Gazetted Employees Coordination Committee, Koraput District Branch, today submitted a 10-point charter of demands to Mr. Karunakar Bhue, District Education Officer (DEO), Koraput.
The committee urged the DEO to fulfill these ten demands and ensure justice for all employees working in the education sector across Koraput district. President Dash stated that the demands are legitimate and justified.
He pointed out that teachers and teaching staff are working under immense pressure due to staff shortages in schools. Hence, the committee demanded:

- Deployment of adequate teaching staff as per the student–teacher ratio,
- Transfer of teachers from remote and difficult areas to suitable locations,
- Transfer of teachers with health issues to convenient postings,
- Promotion of Class IV employees to the post of Junior Assistant,
- Implementation of pending compassionate appointments,
- Promotions for Junior and Senior Assistants based on merit and eligibility, and
- Appointment of sufficient staff in educational offices as per administrative requirements.
- Mr. Dash informed the media that these issues were discussed in detail with the District Education Officer, Koraput, who assured to consider the matter seriously.
During the submission of the memorandum, Mr. Chandan Kumar Nayak, Block Education Officer (BEO), Jaypur, was also present.
