Jharsuguda , Dec, 10:  A farewell felicitation ceremony was organized on Sunday at the Pathapranta Facility Centre located on the premises of Kuremal Line Hotel for five teachers who retired from Panchayat High School, Samarbaga under Lakhanpur Block. The event was hosted by the Alumni Association of the school.

According to available information, this school was established in 1987, and Headmaster Shantanu Panigrahi, who had been teaching since the inception of the school, retired in March 2011; English Teacher Mangal Prasad Bhoi retired in April 2023; Physical Education Teacher Biharilal Patel in May 2024; Mathematics Teacher Yadumani Padhan in June 2024; and Geography Teacher Batu Padhan retired in August 2025.

On this occasion, a grand meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Mahendra Bishwal, a student from the first batch of the school. The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the teachers. Students present at the event offered Guru Puja, recited memories of their teachers, and became emotional while expressing their heartfelt respect.

The teachers, moved by the honor bestowed upon them by their students, blessed them and urged that they uphold truth and dedication in their respective fields and contribute significantly to nation-building. They also wished for the alumni association to always remain united and strong.

Former student Rajesh Singh presented cultural performances during the event. Students, with tears in their eyes, escorted the teachers in a respectful and grand procession back to their respective villages after the farewell program.

The dignitaries, educationists, and intellectuals of the region praised the organizing efforts of the Alumni Association.
