Koraput, 10th Sept 2025: An important meeting of the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Koraput was held at the Atithi Bhavan Conference Hall in Koraput. According to Murali Dhar Adhikari, the regional coordinator, 12 key activists from three districts of the Koraput division participated in the meeting.
The State Co-Coordinator of the Manch, Manoranjan Rautaray, addressed the gathering and stated that the tariff imposed by the United States on Indian products has actually created a strategic opportunity for India to protect its domestic manufacturing and retail markets.
He emphasized that once we stop focusing on foreign brands and start using Indian (Swadeshi) products in our daily lives, we will not only safeguard our markets but also significantly contribute to reducing unemployment.
He cited the Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech, where, for nearly 40 minutes, the PM urged both consumers and entrepreneurs to buy and promote Indian-made goods. Rautaray remarked, “Only when we prioritize Swadeshi products in our everyday lives can we make India self-reliant and prosperous.”
He further added that although the government may have certain compulsions in dealing with foreign trade, common citizens are under no such obligation. “We are simply appealing to people to buy Indian brands,” he said.
Currently, a nationwide campaign titled ‘Swadeshi Suraksha Swavalamban Abhiyan’ is underway. This initiative aims to counteract the impact of excessive U.S. tariffs and bolster India’s economy from the grassroots level.
A major national awareness campaign will be organized soon, led by Ravi Mishra, under the theme “Swadeshi Suraksha Swavalamban Yatra”, which will promote self-reliance and economic strength.
The state-level ideological division of the Manch conducted the session, while Mrutyunjaya Swain, the district coordinator of Koraput, facilitated the meeting. Other notable participants included:
Subrat Kumar Mishra – District Coordinator, Nabarangpur
Manoj Kumar Subudhi – Co-Coordinator, Malkangiri District
Prabhanjan Mishra, Keshab Pattnayak, Arjuna Das, Debasish Bishoi, Prabhakar Patra, Rajendra Rath, and others.
The event emphasized the growing support for Swadeshi ideals and urged the public to actively participate in the movement to build a self-sufficient India.
