Nandapur, 26th July 2025: After a long time, the historical memory of Nandapur will once again be revived. Statues of the Suryavanshi King and Queen will be erected in Nandapur to honor and recall the royal legacy of the Nandapur kingdom.

Although the rule later shifted from Nandapur to Jeypore, and Jeypore developed its own independent identity, the roots still trace back to Nandapur. This emotional connection was recently highlighted by Yuvraj Kumar Bishweshwar Chandra Chood, a royal descendant of the Jeypore royal family.

In memory of the glorious era of the Nandapur kingdom, a proposal has been submitted to install statues of the Suryavanshi King and Queen in the town. On Wednesday, two staff representatives of the Jeypore royal family visited Nandapur. Accompanied by members of the Nandapur Debottar (temple trust) committee, they first went to the Tehsil Office and held discussions with Additional Tehsildar Madhab Pangi.

Later, they visited the legendary site of the 32 thrones and held a meeting with community leaders and temple trust members, including Gopal Krishna Bebarsaa, Jagannath Pangi, Muna Dalpati, Bhubaneswar Dalpati, and Loknath Chaudhury. The focus was on installing the statues of the royal couple and reviving the cultural heritage of the region.

It was revealed that a larger community-wide meeting will be organized soon, involving all villagers, to further deliberate and finalize the proposal.
