Rayagada : On the instructions of District Collector Parul Patwari, and under the direct supervision of Sub-Collector Ramesh Kumar Jena, sudden raids were conducted on several hotels in Rayagada town. The cleanliness, hygiene, and quality of food items in these hotels were thoroughly inspected.
As part of this operation, a raid was carried out at the 24×7 Restaurant near Rayagada Railway Station. The food was found to be of poor quality and the environment unhygienic.
During the inspection, three domestic LPG cylinders were seized. A fine of ₹40,000 was imposed. Following this, a raid was also conducted at Hotel Kailash, where five more domestic LPG cylinders were seized. The hotel was found to be operating in unhygienic conditions, and artificial food colors and substandard ingredients were detected. A fine of ₹30,000 was imposed.
Subsequently, raids were carried out at Hotel Sai International and Bar, also located in Rayagada. The bar failed to present valid bar and food licenses, resulting in a fine of ₹50,000.
During these operations, ACSW Suhans Bhoy, Food Inspector Jyoti Prakash Soren, Sanitary Expert Binay Bikram Parichha, police personnel, and other officials were present. Sub-Collector instructed all hotel owners to maintain hygiene and serve high-quality food to customers.
