‘Surabhi-2025’ Cluster-Level Children’s Festival Celebrated at Badani Government Ashram School

Jharigaon, 17th Oct 2025:  The cluster-level children’s festival and ‘Surabhi-2025’ event was organized today at Badani Government Ashram School, under the Ramsa Cluster Resource Center, which is part of the Jharigaon Group Education Center in Nabarangpur district.

The event was held under the direct supervision of Sangram Keshari Badjena, coordinator of the Ramsa Cluster Resource Center, and chaired by the Headmaster of Badani Ashram School, Sapan Kumar Haldar.

Narasingha Bhatra, MLA of the Jharigaon constituency, attended as Chief Guest and inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Among other distinguished guests present were:

Ravindra, acting District Welfare Officer of Nabarangpur

Chandra Bhanu Nayak, MP representative from Jharigaon

Radha Santa, Sarpanch of Palia

Madana Dei Gauda, Samiti Member of Palia

Harishchandra Pujari, President of the School Management Committee

Maheshwar Tiwari, former Panchayat Samiti President

Pratap Duria, President of the SC Association, Jharigaon Block

Dambaru Bhatra, social worker

The guests were warmly welcomed by the students, who brought them to the school in a traditional procession with folk dance and music. Upon arrival, they were greeted with flowers, sandalwood paste, and garlands and led to the guest seating area.

Teacher Krutibas Harijan conducted the stage proceedings and introduced the guests. The students presented uttariyas (scarves) and bouquets as tokens of welcome.

Headmaster Mr. Haldar presented the annual school report and brought various school-related issues to the attention of the guests. The event began formally after the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

Following that, the students performed a welcome dance dedicated to the guests. Several competitions were then held, including:

Debate (in Odia)

Essay writing

Drawing

Quiz

Creative writing

Elocution

Music

Odia handwriting

Dictation

Cultural performances

Art and craft competitions

Students who secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in these events were awarded certificates and prizes by the guests.

The Surabhi-2025 event saw participation from students, guide teachers, and headmasters of 11 schools from the Ramsa Cluster (Badani, Palia, Kandhiguda, Paurabheli, Ramsa, Basudevguda, Poluguda, Jumarpadar, Beljhadi, Motibandaguda).

Teachers, educators, and guardians from all the schools attended the event and enthusiastically encouraged the students throughout the program.
