Sunabeda College Hosts Discussion on “India is Moving Towards Global Leadership”

Sunabeda: A state-level discussion circle was organized by the Department of Political Science and Social Science at Sunabeda College. The topic of the discussion was “India is Moving Towards Global Leadership.” Dr. Vishnu Charan Choudhury, former professor at Brahmapur University, was the chief speaker. In his speech, Dr. Choudhury highlighted that India has established its democracy through non-violence and that the country’s software industry and its written history of 5,000 years have transformed India into a powerful nation. He emphasized how science and technology have played a crucial role in transforming India into a global power.

Dr. Choudhury also discussed India’s efforts in promoting world peace, the use of nuclear energy, the promotion of human rights, and ensuring the safety and empowerment of women. He further expressed that India ranks fifth in the world economy. Another speaker, Dr. Chitta Ranjan Mishra, also contributed to the discussion.

The discussion circle, chaired by Dr. Rama Ranjan Pattnaik, began with an inaugural speech by Dr. Jhansi Singh, followed by brief comments from the professor Niranjan. Dr. Geeta Pattnaik concluded the session with a vote of thanks. Among the participants, Shubhankar’s essay won the first prize for excellence.

The event was made successful with the participation of students from the Department of Political Science, including Debananda Nayak, Prashant Kandhapan, Jambeshwar Sahu, Jyotsna Kath, Pinky Jain, Dr. Ramesh Mallick, Premananda Raut, Haraprasad Pati, Binod Lenka, and Harekrishna Sahu. Professor Choudhury was honored and felicitated during the event.
