Malkangiri,: A serious patient, Mrs. Radhamani, from the Malkangiri district, was admitted to the District Hospital. Due to her critical condition, she was referred for further treatment. However, due to financial constraints, she faced difficulties in getting treated. Following the intervention of Malkangiri MLA, Mr. Narsingh Madakami, arrangements were made for an ambulance from Malkangiri to Bhubaneswar, where she was transferred to a prominent hospital.
During the operation, it was discovered that the patient’s name had not been included in the Prime Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) card, which caused a delay. The hospital authorities informed that the operation would require a payment of 2 lakh rupees.
Upon receiving the news, MLA Mr. Madakami immediately visited the hospital and discussed the matter with the concerned authorities. Thanks to his active intervention, the issue with the PM-JAY card was resolved. As a result, the patient’s surgery was successfully completed under the PM-JAY scheme without any cost, and she received all the benefits of the scheme.
This humanitarian effort by the MLA has been widely praised in the local community.
