Malkangiri, 17th Oct 2025:  In a special ceremony held today at the District Police Headquarters, the Subhash Bose Town Club Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee under Malkangiri Municipality was awarded the Best Puja Pandal award by District Superintendent of Police Vinod Patil.

SP Patil noted that during recent Puja celebrations, a decline in spiritual ambience was observed. Therefore, in an effort to preserve traditional spiritual values and raise awareness among the public, the police administration initiated this recognition. He emphasized the importance of reducing noise pollution, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring orderly announcements, and upholding peace and discipline at Puja pandals.

He also announced that in the coming days, the police department will organize cyber security awareness programs, encouraging community participation and cooperation.

In the award ceremony:

Subhash Bose Town Club was presented the First Prize for Best Puja Pandal.

Durgaguda Sahi Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee and Jai Jagannath Multipurpose Development Committee were jointly awarded the Second Prize.

The Sanrakshita Police Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee received the Third Prize for displaying awareness themes like women’s safety, forest protection, and law & order.

DNK Khel Padia Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee also received the Third Prize.

Additionally, Gandhiaguda Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee, Court Square Puja Committee, and the Odisha State Regional Transport Department were given consolation prizes for their commendable efforts.

Inspector (Goinda) Raj Kishore Das welcomed everyone and conducted the program.
To evaluate and select the best pandals, a committee was formed comprising:

The Superintendent of Police also appreciated the contributions of Shri Das and Shri Rao. Members of various Puja committees expressed their gratitude to the SP for this innovative initiative.
