Malkangiri, 18th Nov 2025: The State-Level Children’s Festival “Surabhi 2025” held in Malkangiri district has achieved remarkable success. From the district, students from Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Gunduri, excelled in the higher secondary category of painting. Dilapati secured first place, while in the ninth-grade category at the New Adarsha Jatisangh, student Saurabhjit from the government high school Balimela achieved first place. In the higher secondary essay writing category, Unikrish secured third place.
Similarly, in the Prime Minister’s Nutrition Art Senior Division, Gunduri students Siddhikant secured first place, while in the junior division, Ahilraj Benya achieved second place. In the junior division handicapped painting category, Shubhashree Mallik, a fifth-grade student of Kumaraput Primary School, secured second place.
The cultural troupe of Malkangiri district performed at a very high standard and won second place in the district jury award category at the state level. This success was congratulated by District Education Officer and Block Coordinator S. M. Chittaranjan Panigrahi, Additional District Education Officer Manjulata Bhui, and Bhagirath Behera at the state level.
Notably, a total of 58 students from different departments of the district participated in this state-level children’s festival “Surabhi,” which was held in Bhubaneswar from 14th to 16th November. The overall success was made possible through the guidance and support of Education Coordinator Sheshashankar Mahalik, Advisor Sitaram Goud, and the participation of 16 cooperating teachers. Senior teachers Pramod Kumar Senapati and Debraj Sethi led the efforts.
The District Education Department has extended its congratulations for this state-level achievement.
