Strong Emphasis on Safety and Security of the Girl Child

Bhadrak, Jan 28:The district-level celebration of National Girl Child Day was held at the District Culture Bhavan under the chairmanship of District Social Welfare Officer Rupali Mitra.

Attending the program as the chief guest, Additional District Magistrate Saroj Kumar Dutta emphasized the importance of health, nutrition, education, and safety of girl children. Among the invited guests were the District Welfare Officer, Additional District Health Officer, Additional District Education Officer, and Assistant District Information and Public Relations Officer, who highlighted issues related to the protection and rights of girl children.

On the occasion, Swayamprabha Nayak was honored for her achievements in the field of education, Kritikrishna Panda in the field of arts, and Jismayee Nayak in the field of sports. Each awardee was presented with a cash prize of Rs2,000.

Winners of the slogan and speech competitions were also awarded. During the program, adolescent girls from the Dhamnagar Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project presented a solo performance conveying various awareness messages.
