Street Drama Spreads Awareness to Eradicate Superstition

Nabarangpur, 13th Nov 2025:  A zonal-level Science Drama Competition was organized on Thursday at Raja Chaitanya Dev High School, Nabarangpur. Teams from Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Nabarangpur districts participated in the event.

At the inaugural ceremony, ADEO Prakash Mahalik attended as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of science in every aspect of life and stated that science is the key to solving all kinds of problems.

In the competition, Government Girls’ High School, Koraput secured the first position and was selected for the state-level competition. Lankeswari High School, Junagadh won the second place, and Government Girls’ High School, Papadahandi secured the third position. Raja Chaitanya Dev High School received the Jury Award.

Sangeeta Sahu from Government Girls’ High School, Koraput was awarded Best Director, Kailash Harijan won Best Actor, and Sampurna Pradhan received the Best Actress award.

At the prize distribution ceremony, DEO Chhatrapati Sahu attended as the chief guest. He highlighted the contribution of science to society and called for efforts to use drama as a medium to eradicate superstition from communities.

Distinguished guests and judges Debdas Mahakud and Phalguni Patra also attended the event. The program was conducted by District Science Supervisor Chittaranjan Pattnayak, while senior teacher Shivaprasad Panigrahi delivered the vote of thanks.

Staff members including Badrinarayan Biswal, Jyotiranjan Nayak, Shilpi Pattnayak, and Sanghamitra Das extended their full cooperation in organizing the program.
