If you hear thunder, immediately move to a nearby concrete building or shelter.

If you are inside a car, bus, or any other enclosed metal-roofed vehicle during lightning, do not step out.
Do not ride bicycles or motorcycles.
Stay away from metal poles, electric wires, and similar structures.
Stay away from ponds, lakes, or water bodies. If you are in water or on a boat, get out immediately.
Do not fly kites during thunderstorms.
Avoid holding fishing rods, metal umbrellas, or metal rods.
While indoors, stay away from windows, doors, and walls.
Keep your distance from electrically conductive items.
Awareness and caution are the keys to safety.
