Malkangiri,18th Oct 2025: An independent enrollment camp for the State Open School was recently organized at Government Upgraded High School, Madakapadar, in Malkangiri district. The initiative was carried out by the Office of the Cluster Education Officer, Khairput, with the objective of providing educational access to residents of three remote panchayats in the Madakapadar area.
The camp aimed to enroll, free of cost, out-of-school children aged 14 to 18 years. Based on a recent CTS survey, the children identified as dropouts were contacted by school teachers, who then reached out to their parents and explained the government’s educational scheme and the benefits of the State Open Schooling System.
As a result, 41 out-of-school children were successfully enrolled during the camp. It is expected that many more students will enroll in the coming days. Teachers and educators present also explained to parents how their children could return to school and continue their education, even after dropping out.
