Deogarh,7th Nov 2025:  The State-Level Women Poets’ Conference–9098 was organized by the Sri Jagannath Sahitya Sansad. The event was presided over by senior member Dr. Bharat Krishna Nanda, with Madhusudan Pradhan, Chairman of Reamal Block, attending as the chief guest. He appreciated the organizers for their efforts in promoting literary and cultural activities.

Among the distinguished guests were Aarati Pradhan, Vice-Chairperson of Tileibani Block; Ishwar Chandra Guru, Acting District Culture Officer; and Prof. K. Siddharth Panda of Maa Jhateshwari College, Dhama. The chief speaker of the event was Dr. Santosini Babu, former Principal of Padmapur College, and Dr. Shubhasmita Mahapatra, Lecturer at Sambalpur Government College, was the guest of honor.

The program began with an invocation by senior theatre director Margasheshwar Shatapathi and a welcome song by child singer Arundhati Baan. The event featured poetry recitations by eminent women poets from various districts.

The poetry recital session was coordinated by Padmita Dash Mahapatra, District Physical Education Officer and poet, under the chairmanship of Mamata Rani Behera. The welcome address and introductory remarks were given by Chittaranjan Das, Odia lecturer and Secretary of the Sahitya Sansad.

This year, the organizing committee conferred the 3rd State-Level “Kavita Manorama” Award on Dr. Santosini Babu for her excellence in literature and poetry. Additionally, Binita Mahapatra, Headmistress of Kansar Raj High School, received the “Kavita Ashakumari” Award, and Dr. Shubhasmita Mahapatra was honored with the “Kavita Bharati” Award. Each awardee received a citation, certificate of appreciation, and memento from the organization.

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sumitra Purohit, senior poet and member of the Sahitya Sansad.
