Kotpad 25th January 2025 The state government is conducting a pre-budget meeting for the financial year 2025-26. This meeting, held at Lok Seva Bhawan, was chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Discussions primarily focused on key areas such as education, health, transportation, agriculture, and business development for the upcoming financial year.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the media that budget discussions have been scheduled for February 17. Former finance ministers and economic experts have provided significant suggestions. Additionally, the general public can share their opinions until January 31.
The state government had earlier pledged to provide 2 lakh appointments. This year, the government aims to achieve 40,000 appointments. Special emphasis has been placed on sectors like petrochemicals and agro-industries. During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought advice from economic experts.
Prior to this, the Finance Department had sought public opinions as well. While the budget for the year 2024-25 was ₹2.65 lakh crore, it is estimated that this year’s budget amount may increase.
With the Assembly budget session starting on February 13, the Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the budget on February 17.
