Bhubaneswar: The proposal to provide 11.25 Percent reservation for SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) students in higher education and higher secondary education has been approved by the State Cabinet.

Despite repeated demands over the past decade to provide reservation for the social and economic development of the SEBC community, the previous governments had continuously neglected the issue.

At a time when the Modi government at the Centre has approved a historic decision like the caste-based census in the Union Cabinet, the decision of the Odisha government is equally commendable.
