Rayagada, Dec, 11: A stakeholder workshop was organized in the district council hall of Rayagada for the preparation of a GIS-based master plan for Rayagada town under the Amrut-2.0 scheme of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. The workshop was conducted with the collaboration of the Odisha Urban Development Directorate, India Institute of Local Self-Government, and the state government.

The Rayagada District Collector chaired this important meeting, where a detailed discussion was held on the master plan for the city’s future development up to 2051.

The primary objectives of this master plan are:

Coordinated land use planning and promoting balanced urban development through foundational planning.

Encouraging growth in industrial, commercial, and service sectors to boost economic development.

Ensuring essential services and facilities for the citizens of the city.

The workshop was attended by several key officials, including:

Deputy Collector, Rayagada

District Chief Development Officer and Executive Officers of the District Council

Rayagada Tehsildar

Officers from various district departments, urban development, and municipal authorities

Representatives from A.I.I.L.S., P.H.D., P.W.D., R.D., N.H., health, and other departments.

The session focused on gathering inputs from all stakeholders to prepare a comprehensive and sustainable GIS-based master plan for the city.
