Staff Shortage at Tahasil Office Causes Delays in Land Record Corrections

Rayagada: The Rayagada district tahasil offices are facing an acute staff shortage, leading to delays in land record corrections, caste certificates, income certificates, crop damage reports, house fire reports, and other critical administrative services.

Key Issues Due to Staff Shortage:

11 Tahasils Affected: Rayagada, Kolnara, Gudari, Bishamakatak, Muniguda, Chandrapur, Kashipur, Padmapur, and others.

Vacancies:

Revenue Inspectors (RI): 19 vacant positions

Assistant Revenue Inspectors (ARI): 42 vacant positions

Amin (Surveyors): 51 vacant positions

Total Approved Positions vs. Available Staff:

101 sanctioned RI posts, only 84 filled

98 sanctioned ARI posts, only 56 filled

73 sanctioned Amin posts, only 26 filled

This staff shortage has crippled tahasil operations, delaying crucial government processes, including land record corrections for deceased owners.

The state government had instructed tahasil offices to conduct special camps for land record corrections of deceased landowners. However, lack of staff has halted progress in the district.

District Collector Narayan Ranjan Mishra has assured that the recruitment process has started in various departments to fill these vacancies and restore smooth operations.
