Nabarangpur, Jan 30: The District-Level Sports Festival organized by the ST & SC Development Department concluded with great enthusiasm at Biju Patnaik Stadium, Umerkote.
The closing ceremony was held under the chairmanship of District Welfare Officer Rabindra Palaka Laka. Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia attended as the Chief Guest, while Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Bishwajit Chandra Barman graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Among the other distinguished guests were Indoor Stadium In-Charge Ashok Kumar Sahu (Umerkote), Additional Tahasildar Nilambar Pujari, Additional Labour Officer Manas Ranjan Khosla, Additional District Welfare Officer Bharat Chandra Sahu, Ms. Nibedita Biswal, Welfare Extension Officer Umerkote, and other Welfare Extension Officers of the district.
Senior Headmasters Bhamini, Prashant Kumar Jena, Sadhuram Bhatra, Satya Narayan Patra, T. Srikant, Sports Teachers Kishore Kumar Sil, Gopal Pattnaik, Kalikinkar Pattnaik, and Sapan Bairagi extended their support in organizing the event.
More than 1,680 students from across the district participated in the sports meet. Bhamini High School emerged as the champion in the boys’ category, while Nayakguda Girls’ High School secured the championship title in the girls’ category.
Headmasters, teachers, assistant teachers, matrons, and sports teachers actively contributed to the successful organization of the event.
