Nuagaon : The third annual Gita Jongya was grandly organized and celebrated at the JongyaMandap in Puruna Nuagaon, under the Nuagaon Block of Kandhamal district. Over the past five days, Swamiji Anuryyami Das from Talcher led the recitation and discourse of the 700 verses of the Bhagavad Gita. This event was organized by the village’s Bhagavat Committee.
On the first day, rituals such as Ganga Aavahan and Kalasha Yatra were conducted by priests Rabindra Satapathy and Sridhar Tripathy. Daily rituals included ceremonial worship of the Sun and deities, and each day concluded with a sacred homa ceremony.
On the final day, elderly men and women, differently-abled individuals, the destitute, and widows from nearby villages such as Kudutuli, Sriram Palli, Sirshiguda, and Nediguda were provided clothing by the committee as part of a charitable initiative.
The event was organized under the leadership of Shyam Ghansahu, editor of Divya Jeevan Sangha, with coordination by senior teachers Sukanu Kumar Mahapatra and Manoj Kumar Bisi Majhi.
Pratap Chandra Patra served as the chief priest for the yajna. Other key contributors included Nalini Kanu Bisi Majhi, Chaitanya Bishoyi, Bikram Bisi Majhi, Bibhuti Bhusan Dalapati, Ghanashyam Bishoyi, Surath Behera, Tarani Sen Bishoyi, Sridhar Behera, Narayan Behera, Gopinath Patra, Kanhai Bishoyi, and Sakrajit Bishoyi. Many spiritual individuals and women from the village also actively participated and contributed to the success of the event.
