Nabarangpur, 14th Nov 2025: With cybercrime increasing day by day in Odisha, the Nabarangpur district police organized a massive bicycle rally on Tuesday in Umarkot town to create awareness among people and prevent cybercrime. Under the leadership of District Police Superintendent M. Sunil Sampat, the rally started from Pendrani Temple, spreading awareness among the public.
The SP personally visited various fruit shops and tea stalls in the town to educate people. During this occasion, he said that cybercrime cases make it difficult to catch criminals because cyber offenders operate from within the state or even abroad. Therefore, being aware and cautious is the only way to prevent such crimes.
He advised that if anyone falls victim to cybercrime, they should immediately call the 1930 helpline, never share OTPs with anyone, avoid calls or video calls from unknown numbers, and never click on links from unfamiliar sources.
During the rally, the SP and police visited crowded areas and medical facilities on bicycles to raise awareness among people. College students, police personnel, and ordinary citizens also participated in the program.
The event was attended by Nabarangpur DSP Saroj Kipatta, Umarkot SDPO Shubhendu Shabar, Raighar Police Officer Raghunath Majhi, Umarkot Police Officer Ramakant Sai, Kundhei Police Officer Durgaprasad Brahma, SI Shivaji Panda, Akshay Mishra, Soumendra Seth, ASI Bishwaranjan Padhi, Jharigaon Constable Mahesh Pattnayak, Prabhas Malakar, S.
