Cuttack, 9th Oct 2025: During the curfew period, patients and their attendants at SCB Medical College and the Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Cancer Institute faced severe difficulties due to the absence of food services. With canteens closed and local eateries shut down, obtaining meals became a major problem.
Thanks to the initiative and support of well-known social worker Abhimanyu Das, thousands of people were provided with food over two consecutive days at these two hospitals.
On Monday, around 1,000 people were served bread and bananas during the day, while at night, they were given roti, dalma (a lentil-vegetable dish), and jaggery.
Today, in the forenoon, cooked meals were distributed to around 3,000 people.
Several individuals actively participated in this humanitarian effort, including Ashok Behera, Arakshita Sahu, Ravindra Gupta, Debendra Sahu, and Maneshwar Pradhan, an officer from the SCB Medical Police Outpost.
