Nabarangpur: The Pravasi Odia Food and Craft Fair will be held at Shilparamam, Madhapur, Hyderabad, starting on the 7th of this month and will continue for three days. During this event, Kadambini Tripathi, a social worker from Nabarangpur district, will be honored with the ‘Mahila Odiaani’ Award.
According to reports, Kadambini Tripathi has directly assisted around 4,000 women, providing support in various critical situations. She has worked extensively in cases related to domestic violence, female migrant laborers, minor trafficking, gang rapes, and even supported underage mothers at different times.
She has been a prominent activist in several sensitive cases, including:
Gang rape cases of minor girls in areas like Kuduli, Anjiapeta, Gumandali, Kataguda, and Podagada.
Protests against student suicides due to the inability to pay school fees, which led to government intervention in the form of fee waivers.
Campaigns against the government’s restrictions on ‘Kangaroo Courts’ in connection with the gang rape of an 18-year-old student.
