Kashipur, Mar, 30: Though a Tehsildar by profession, his compassion for the poor has driven him to use his authority to bring smiles to people’s faces. Kashipur Tehsildar Anupam Acharya has extended a helping hand to an elderly woman named Rama, who was found in a helpless condition wandering in the Kashipur block headquarters.
On noticing the elderly woman begging for food, Mr. Acharya arranged for her to receive rice under the food security scheme. He also directed a female staff member from the Tehsil office to take her to the Supply Inspector at the block office for further assistance.
It is reported that the elderly woman had been married in the Rayagada area, but after her husband’s death, she returned to her native place and has been surviving by begging.
The Tehsildar’s kind gesture towards the helpless woman has been widely appreciated by the public. It is also learned that all necessary facilities will be arranged for her in the coming week.
