Six Contenders Vie for District Congress President; Observers Tour 6 Blocks for Feedback

Malkangiri , 10th Sept 2025: There are six aspirants for the District Congress President post in Malkangiri, and the Central and State-level observers have taken serious interest in the selection process. To gather opinions from grassroots workers, the observers visited six blocks in the district and conducted feedback sessions.

The Central Observer, AICC member and Raipur MLA Raghavendra Singh, along with PCC observers Dasharathi Gamang, Pandav Karan, and Lipika Majhi, visited blocks like Kalimela, Podia, Korukonda, Chitrakonda, Khairput, and Mathili over the past two days.

During their visit, they met with party workers, intellectuals, and other stakeholders to gather input on suitable candidates for the district leadership role. They have now returned, but it’s informed that the team will revisit the district on September 13, when they will cover Malkangiri block and the municipality area, and again collect further feedback from the people.

On the same day (13th September), the nomination papers for the president post will also be officially submitted.

Notably, Malkangiri district comprises two assembly constituencies: Chitrakonda, currently represented by a Congress MLA, and Malkangiri, held by a BJP MLA.

The selection process has already begun, and nomination papers are being collected from the contenders. Who will finally be chosen as the District President will be revealed in the coming days.
