Tentulikhunti ,17th Sept 2025: An awareness chariot (Rath) promoting millets (Mandia) was flagged off from the premises of Tentulikhunti Panchayat Samiti Office at 11 AM, as part of the Shri Anna Abhiyan and the Odisha Millet Mission.
The awareness vehicle was flagged off with a green flag by:
- Rajendra Beshoyee, Vice-Chairman of Tentulikhunti Block
- Varun Dhanapool, Block Agriculture Officer
- Govind Kahar, Assistant Executive Engineer
- Binita Jethi, CDPO
- They officially inaugurated the event and contributed to making the program a success.
Among others who participated:
- Nishant Kumar Beshoyee, Block Coordinator of Shri Anna Abhiyan
- Nirod Panda, Additional Block Coordinator
- From Agragamee: Somai Majhi, Ashwini Nayak, Jay Patra, and Gula Bhoi.
- This Mandia Awareness Rath will travel across Tentulikhunti Block for 4 days, spreading awareness about:
- Increasing cultivation and consumption of millets (especially Mandia or Ragi)
- Encouraging local communities to include millets in their daily diet
- The awareness rath will also educate people on how to incorporate Mandia into everyday meals.
- According to Block Coordinator Mr. Beshoyee, 980 farmers from 14 panchayats of the block have already cultivated Mandia this year under the Shri Anna Abhiyan.
- Farmers, field-level workers of Agragamee, and women members of various Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from different panchayats actively participated in the inauguration event.
