Tentulikhuṇṭi, 27th Oct 2025: A Millet Food Festival was organized by Shree Anna Abhiyan at the Government School in Jajaniguda village, under Pujariguda Panchayat of Tentulikhuṇṭi Block, Nabarangpur district. The event aimed to raise awareness about millet cultivation and consumption, and a special “Millet Chariot” (Māṇḍiā Rath) was also inaugurated as part of the campaign.
The Millet Chariot and food stalls were inaugurated by Block Agriculture Officer Barun Dhanpual and Headmaster of the Government High School Ramani Ranjan Garada. The event was coordinated by Block Shree Anna Abhiyan Coordinator Nishant Kumar Bishoyi, who also managed the Millet Chariot procession, food fair, and workshop.
At the beginning, a millet awareness workshop was held in the presence of all students and teachers. During the meeting, participants discussed topics such as the nutritional benefits of millet, its market demand, health advantages, different varieties of millets, and modern cultivation techniques.
Later, the Millet Chariot was formally launched, and the Millet Food Stalls were inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The stalls displayed and served a wide range of millet-based dishes such as Mandia Kakara Pitha (sweet cake), Khadu, mix cereals, Mandia Pokudi (snacks), Mandia Soup, and Kangu Kheer (millet pudding), which were distributed among the students and staff.
Finally, Headmaster Shri Garada concluded the workshop by thanking the Block Agriculture Department staff and members of Agragami Organization for their active support and cooperation.
Among others present at the event were Additional Block Agriculture Officer Dhuren Benya, Overseer Bandita Maharana, Jitendra Takri, Balagobinda Sahu from the Agriculture Office, and from Agragami — Nirod Panda, Ashwini Nayak, Jay Patra, Krupasindhu Gauda, and Tankadhar Jhadia.
