Nabarangpur: The shooting of the Doordarshan telefilm Khali Handi, directed by Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, has been successfully completed. The film presents a touching story depicting how an innocent tribal youth struggles against various societal problems to protect his family.
This film has been produced under the auspices of Nabarangpur’s leading cultural organization Trishakti Sanskritik Sangha. The story, screenplay, and direction have been done by Manoj Kumar Pattnaik. In key roles, renowned local artists such as Jitendra Paricha, Jitendra Kumar Choudhury, Prakash Chandra Barik, Tushar Kanti Khosla, Sanjeev Singh, Shiba Shankar Padhi, Durga Pradhan, Debashis Mohanty, Payal Nayak, Pushpanjali Bhatra, Pujan Suna, Ranjan Kumar Soura, Tularam Bhatra, Chandan Sahu, Purna Bhatra, Haldhar Gauda, Padmini Kathi, and Neelam Kamani Kathi have acted.
Support was provided by the Chaudhury family of Kanchan Nibas in Nabarangpur, Maa Bandurga self-help group of Churahandi village, and the residents of Churahandi and Landikhendi villages.
To capture the film, senior officials from Bhawanipatna Doordarshan Kendra, including senior editing officer Amaya Sahu, senior cameraman Sanjeev Khosla, Dushmanta Pradhan, and Bhawani Pattnaik, were present.
It is noteworthy that Manoj Kumar Pattnaik has earlier directed six telefilms for Doordarshan. Among his notable works are Jyoti, Amabasyara Jahna, and Jeevan Khojuthae Kaha Pain, the latter co-directed with National Award-winning filmmaker Ghanashyam Mohapatra. He also made a documentary based on the famous pilgrimage site Gupteswar Pitha based on his own script.
Following the broadcast of this news, various senior and junior artists of the district, including Odia Sangeet Natak Akademi member and veteran artist Debdas Mahakud, and renowned social worker Jagannath Mahapatra, extended their congratulations and best wishes to director Manoj Kumar Pattnaik and the actors of the film.
