Kandhamal The third day of the Kandhamal Baisakhi Festival and the Commercial Fair was celebrated on Tuesday. The chief guests included P.A. ITI Dihagaadhar Patra, the distinguished guest Chandra Sekhar Parida, President of the Okiyal Sangh, senior lawyer and BJP leader Bhagwan Mohanty. They all attended the event, which is being held over a span of 12 days. The fair was described as a way to bring Kandhamal’s culture and traditions to the public eye and also as an opportunity to create space for new artists.
During the occasion, the organizing committee chairperson and senior journalist Sunil Pattnaik, vice-chairperson Radhamoan Mahapatra, and vice-president Sujit Behera honored the main and distinguished guests with flower bouquets, shawls, and memorial gifts.
New dance groups and artists from Baliguda’s Banabasi Seva Committee showcased attractive performances that captivated the audience. The main guests Patra and Mohanty, along with Parida, presented the groups with certificates and trophy souvenirs.
The fair will continue until the 8th of the coming month.
