Kotpad 24th January 2025 The budget session of the Seventy-Seventh Legislative Assembly will begin on February 13. On the first day of the session, Governor Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati will deliver his address. The budget for the financial year 2025-26 will be presented by the Mohan government. The session will have a total of 28 working days in two phases. The first phase will run from February 17 to 21. The second phase will begin on March 7 and continue until April 5. This will be the third session for Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s government.
All eyes are on what new programs and announcements the Mohan government will include in this budget. On the first day of the session, a motion of thanks on the Governor’s address will be presented. Discussions on the Governor’s address are scheduled for February 14 and 15. Discussions on the general budget will take place on February 20 and 21. The session will be adjourned from February 22 to March 6. The second phase will begin on March 7, during which standing committee reports of various departments will be presented.
From March 10, discussions on expenditure demands of various departments will be held. There will be holidays on March 14 and 15 for Dol Purnima and Holi. On March 28, the final expenditure demand discussions will be held. The Appropriation Bill will be introduced on March 29. March 30 (Sunday), March 31 (Eid al-Fitr), and April 1 (Utkal Divas) will be holidays. After that, house proceedings will continue from April 2 to April 5.
