Kotpad, Nov 27:  Senior lawyer of Kotpad Advocates Association, former president of the Advocates Association, and former chairman of Kotpad Block, Prakash Chandra Rath, has passed away at the age of 73. He had been receiving treatment at a home-based medical facility in Jeypore due to serious health issues for the past few days. However, he passed away during treatment. At the time of his death, his son, daughter, and family members were present.

Late Rath had served as a youth member of the Kotpad Block Congress and was the first chairman of Kotpad Block, actively fulfilling organizational responsibilities of the Congress party. Later, he became the president of the Kotpad Advocates Association and contributed to the establishment of the Sri Aravind Education Center, installation of Sri Aravind’s memorial, and establishment of the ashram in Surli, thereby widely promoting the spiritual legacy of Sri Aravind in the Kotpad region.

After his body reached Kotpad, the Advocates Association, various organizations, and Congress workers offered their condolences. The tributes were paid in the presence of Kotpad NAC President Shankar Rao, Block Congress President Manohar Bishoi, former MLA Chandra Sekhar Majhi, Advocates Association members, President Mani Pattnayak, former president Pankaj Kumar Patra, Jitendranath Mahapatra, Pradeep Bakshi, and editor Mukteswar Nayak.
