Nabarangpur, Jan, 20:  Senior advocate Gangadhar Samantaray, a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Nabarangpur district and former Government Advocate, passed away this morning at the age of 69.

He had also served as the former President of the district BJP. For many years, he worked as a Government Advocate in the district court. He had also served as President of the District Bar Association.

At the time of his death, he is survived by his wife, three daughters, brother and other family members. His youngest daughter, Government Advocate Swagatika Samantaray, performed the last rites.

Following his demise, School and Mass Education Minister Nityanand Gond, MP Balabhadra Majhi, MLA Gaurishankar Majhi, former MP Parshuram Majhi, Municipal Chairperson Kunu Nayak, advocates Sudhakar Pattanayak, Aravind Prasad Pattanayak, former District Bar Association Secretary Ram Prasad Patra, advocates Rabindra Prasad Padhi, Sunil Sahu, Harinarayan Behera, Satish Chandra Nayak, Santosh Nayak, Shyam Prasad Majhi, Sarveshwar Patra, Muna Tripathy, District Traders’ Association and Millers’ Association President Kahnu Das, and many other prominent citizens of the town expressed deep condolences and paid rich tributes to the departed soul.
