Sunabeda: The District Education Officer of Koraput, recognizing the outstanding contributions of the Semiliguda education department, entrusted the responsibility of organizing the District Nipun Mela in Semiliguda block to Mrs. Chameli Majumdar. Along with her team of 11 CRCCs (Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators), she successfully executed the program with great dedication and efficiency.
As part of her initiatives, she also set up a coaching center for students preparing for Navodaya and Adarsha Vidyalaya entrance exams, enabling government school students to benefit. This year, two students successfully cleared the Navodaya entrance test thanks to her efforts. On National Disability Day every year, she personally gifted items to differently-abled students as a gesture of care and support.
Since joining as Block Education Officer (BEO) of Semiliguda in 2018, Mrs. Majumdar never looked back. Her six-year tenure in the block is regarded as a golden era for education in Semiliguda. She dedicated her entire time and energy to the betterment of the education department, putting aside personal commitments.
Her leadership style and commitment were reflected in every program, conducted in collaboration with CRCCs, ensuring effective implementation. On the 23rd of a particular month, with support from all CRCCs and teachers, she organized a mega blood donation camp at Semiliguda High School, where over 300 units of blood were collected — a testament to her organizational strength.
Mrs. Majumdar is regarded as a capable administrator, a strong organizer, an educationist, and most importantly, a compassionate human being. She has now been promoted to the post of Additional District Education Officer (ADEO). Her absence is deeply felt in the Semiliguda education department, and her tenure is remembered as a time of invaluable contribution by a former dedicated Block Education Officer.
