Dabugam, A self-defense training camp was inaugurated at Bhairab Degree College, Dabugam. The event was graced by Shri Shankar Prasad Gantayat, Acting Principal of the college and Head of the Political Science Department, as the Chief Guest.
Smt. Urmila Brahma, Head of the Economics Department, attended as the Honored Guest, while Smt. Manisha Sarkar, a faculty member from the Odia Department, managed the program.
In his speech, Shri Gantayat emphasized that the primary objective of the self-defense training was to protect women from harassment and violence. He highlighted that this initiative was a special effort of the Higher Education Department to ensure women’s safety.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Brahma stated that gender discrimination should be eradicated from society, and both men and women should have equal access to security. She also mentioned that self-defense training acts as a protective shield for women.
