Shagada, Jan, 03:The Krushi Vigyan Kendra located at Baghiapada Paljhar in Boudh district, in collaboration with the Neelakantheswar Farmer Producer Organization, Kumarkeli, distributed seeds to farmers while giving priority to oilseed crops.
Seeds were distributed to farmers of the villages Rabidi, Dimirimunda, Bandhanjhuli under Jogindrapur Panchayat, and Kumarkeli and Brahmani villages under Khatkhatiya Panchayat.
This distribution has been carried out to address the shortage of edible oil by promoting the cultivation of national oilseed crops during the current Rabi season. Giving priority to oilseed crops, the Krushi Vigyan Kendra distributed seeds to farmers for cultivation of mustard over 20 acres and groundnut over 10 acres.
These seeds were provided to the farmers free of cost. The seeds have been supplied by the Agriculture Department to ensure that agricultural land is not left fallow after the harvest of paddy crops.
