Second Preparatory Meeting Held for Grand Odia New Year Procession

Nabarangpur A second preparatory meeting was held at Siddhi Vinayak Temple under the supervision of Gauri Shankar Sahu, the convenor of the Hindu Ekta Bahini, in anticipation of a grand procession for Odia New Year on April 14.

The procession will begin from Chauria Guda, proceed towards the private bus stand, and finally reach Bhandar Gharani Temple, where it will conclude with pana-pana (traditional sweet beverage) distribution. In the first meeting, it was initially decided to end the procession at High School Padia, but considering the large gathering of devotees and safety concerns, the route has been modified.

The previous decisions made in the first meeting will be implemented, and an estimated budget has been prepared. The next meeting is scheduled for March 27, during which various communities of Nabarangpur district will be invited to share their opinions, and a final action plan will be decided.

Several Hindu Ekta Bahini members attended the meeting, including Nuntunu Kumar Patra, Debadas Das Mahankud, Saimya Mishra, Kahu Dash, Phalguni Patra, Nini Babu Tripathi, Ananta Panda, Shishir Gantayat, P. Sunil, Nageshwar Subudhi, Alok Sahu, Rajendra Mahankud, Tribikram, Shambhu Sahu, Ravi, Mani, and others.

The Hindu Ekta Bahini has appealed to all Nabarangpur residents to actively support the success of this grand procession. They encouraged everyone to unite in honoring their culture and making the event a remarkable celebration.
