Malkangiri, Jan, 01:   The second anniversary celebration of the Ganjam Suraksha Samiti was held with due enthusiasm at Kalimela in Malkangiri district.

At the event, the President of Utkal Sahitya Samaj and noted social worker, Keshab Chandra Nayak, attended as the chief guest. Among the distinguished guests were Sudhir Swain, Narendra Pradhan, and E. Venkat Rao. The programme was conducted by Panigrahi, who introduced the objectives and activities of the Ganjam Suraksha Samiti to the audience.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Keshab Chandra Nayak said that human beings are social creatures, and organization is essential for living in society. Social service becomes possible through organizations, and mutual cooperation and support during happiness, sorrow, and times of crisis open pathways for development in various fields. Therefore, he emphasized that development without organization is impossible.
He expressed his gratitude to the office bearers of the Ganjam Suraksha Samiti organized at Kalimela and stated that merely forming the Ganjam Suraksha Samiti in Malkangiri district is not enough. People from various districts of Odisha are permanently residing in Malkangiri district. Hence, there is a strong need to unite all Odia brothers and sisters and form a collective Odia Society.

While explaining the historical background of Madhusudan Das’s ideals and the Utkal Sammilani movement, he urged everyone to understand and follow those principles. He called for grassroots-level organization by including blocks, NACs, and municipal areas of Malkangiri district. He specifically advised that Odia Society organizations should be formed soon in Kalimela and Podia blocks. After block-level organizations are established, a district-level organization should be formed, he added.

He further stated that such an organization would work for the protection and promotion of the Odia people’s language, art, literature, culture, security, education, health, and social service. The office bearers of the Ganjam Suraksha Samiti supported this proposal and unanimously agreed to expedite the work.
At the end of the programme, E. Venkat Rao proposed the vote of thanks.
