Scorching Heatwave: Temperature Soars Above 40 degree C in 8 Cities

Bhubaneswar:  The entire state is experiencing extreme heat. There will be no relief from the scorching temperature until the 17th. The temperature in 8 cities has crossed 40 degrees Celsius, with Jharsuguda recording the highest at 41 degrees. A heatwave warning has been issued for 10 districts today. The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has advised the public to avoid going outdoors between 11 AM and 3 PM.

Meanwhile, the heat is intensifying and becoming unbearable. In Baripada, the temperature is rising daily, making life increasingly difficult for the residents. Since the second week of March, the temperature has already touched 38 to 39 degrees, causing concern and fear among the city’s inhabitants.

In recent years, Baripada has set new records as the hottest city in India and, at times, even the hottest in the world. Last year, in the second week of April, the temperature in Baripada soared to 46 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest city on the planet.

Given the current heat conditions and weather forecasts, it seems likely that this year’s temperatures may surpass all previous records. Between the 11th and 13th of this month, the temperature has already reached around 39 degrees. Based on the prevailing wind patterns and rising heat, Baripada residents are growing increasingly anxious about the possibility of even more extreme weather conditions in the coming days.
