Malkangiri , Feb, 17: The 21st Scientific Advisory Committee meeting was successfully conducted at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Professor S.C. Swain from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology attended as the chief guest.

The meeting was chaired by Professor P.K. Mishra, Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension of OUAT. Successful demonstrations and field trials conducted during the 2024 Rabi season and 2025 Kharif season were presented through slides.
Scientist B. Mandal from Kolkata joined the meeting online as a special guest. Discussions were held on how farmers benefited during the current Kharif season and how they can be further supported in the future through awareness programs on different crops, improved cultivation practices, and modern farming methods.
The committee also discussed how government subsidies and agricultural schemes can be effectively delivered to farmers. It was noted that although many farmers live in the district, several are still not benefiting from the services of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Therefore, emphasis was laid on identifying such farmers and ensuring that all of them receive government benefits and become more profitable through agriculture.
