Bhubaneswar: In view of the heatwave conditions in the state, steps will be taken to adjust school timings to the morning hours, announced School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond. He stated that discussions would be held with the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, and necessary actions would be taken accordingly.
The minister also directed the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Development Department and the School and Mass Education Department to ensure the proper management of Anvesha Hostels, which are meant for SC/ST students. He warned that strict action would be taken if any deficiencies were found in the facilities provided to hostel residents.
During his visit to Anvesha Hostel in Umarkote block, Nabarangpur district, Minister Nityananda Gond inspected the hostel, interacted with students, and assessed the facilities and challenges they faced.
Concerns Over School Uniforms and Hostel Facilities
The minister noted that some private schools had not provided uniforms for the past two years, leading to dissatisfaction among parents. He instructed the concerned school authorities to address this issue immediately.
He also held discussions with officials responsible for hostel management regarding necessary arrangements and improvements.
The minister emphasized that students should receive adequate facilities in hostels to ensure a comfortable stay and proper education.
