Bhubaneswar, 29th July 2025: Green Uniform Removed from House Dress – Students to Receive Saffron ID Cards
From the 2025–26 academic session, ID cards of all primary school students (Classes 1 to 8) are being changed.
The new student ID cards will include:
- Student’s name,
- Class,
- Date of birth,
- Roll number, and
- Phone number.
In addition, it is now mandatory for the headmaster and class teacher’s signatures to be present on the ID card.
The green color, which was earlier used in house uniforms, has been removed. Now, students will be issued saffron-colored ID cards.
The School & Mass Education Department has issued instructions to all District Education Officers (DEOs) regarding this change.
As outsiders are often seen entering school campuses, wearing an ID card has been made compulsory. Students must wear the ID card around their neck when coming to school.
Not only has the color of the ID card changed, but the slogan printed on it has also been updated.
