School Group Sports Festival Celebrated with Enthusiasm

Bhubaneswar,  27th Oct 2025:  The 69th State-Level School Group Badminton and Sepak Takraw Competition 2025-26 was grandly celebrated at Biju Pattnayak Stadium, located in Umarkot, Nabarangpur district. The event was organized under the chairmanship of District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu.

The chief guest of the ceremony was Baroika, Vice President of Nabarangpur Zilla Parishad, Lipika Baroi, while Radha Bhatra, Chairperson of Umarkot Municipal Council, attended as a distinguished guest. Other prominent guests included Parliamentary representative Ram Krishna Nayak, District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda, District Welfare Officer Palaka Ravindra, Additional District Education Officer Keshab Meher, Assistant Physical Education Director Jyoti Prasad Parida, District Physical Education Officer Prabhat Pattnayak, District Science Inspector Chitta Ranjan Pattnayak, and BEOs from Raighar, Dabhugam, Nabarangpur, Nandahandi, Koshagumda, Umarkot, and Chandahandi blocks. The headmaster of the local girls’ high school, Asim Biswas, also occupied a prominent seat on the stage.

The successful organization of a state-level competition in a remote area like Umarkot was appreciated, and thanks were extended to everyone involved. It was emphasized that such sports activities help students achieve holistic development, maintain good health, and contribute to the formation of responsible citizens. The Assistant Physical Education Director Parida read out the event details.

In the badminton competition, the results were:

Boys under 14 years: Sub-junior winner from Jajpur district, champion from Dhenkanal district.

Girls under 14 years: Sub-junior winner from Dhenkanal, champion from Baleshwar.

Boys under 17 years: Sub-junior winner from Sundargarh, champion from Sambalpur.

In the Sepak Takraw competition, the results were:

Boys under 17 years: Sub-junior winner from Bhadrak, champion from Bhubaneswar.

Girls under 17 years: Sub-junior winner from Nabarangpur, champion from Bhubaneswar.

Certificates and trophies were presented to all participants by the distinguished guests. The event was managed by Headmaster Naresh Chandra Pattnayak and teacher Niranjan Satapathy. At the end, Shri Meher offered the vote of thanks.

The winners of the competition will represent the state at the national level. Headmaster Badri Narayan Biswal was honored to participate in the National Science Fair. All block sports teachers, regional coordinators, and headmasters actively contributed to the organization and smooth conduct of the event.
