Jeypore, 20th Nov 2025:  On the occasion of National Education Day, the B.Ed trainees of the Department of Teacher Education, Berhampur University (Bikram Deb University), who are undergoing internship at U.K.P. High School, Jaipur, organized a special survey program and campaign titled “Let Us Go to School”.

The aim of this program—conducted by second-year B.Ed trainees—was to bring back to school those students who were not attending regularly. As part of the campaign, the trainees visited households, interacted with parents, discussed the problems faced by the children, and explained the importance of attending school every day. Parents expressed happiness over such an innovative initiative and promised to send their children to school regularly.

Participating in the campaign were the school’s Headmistress Smt. Dharitri Maharana, Smt. Murchhana Chinnappa, Shri Purnachandra Choudhury, Smt. Seema Jayadhar, Shri Tapas Bishoyi, Smt. Sambitrekha Jena, Smt. Megharanipall, among others. From the B.Ed Department of Bikram Deb University, Department Head Dr. Manoranjan Pradhan, Assistant Professor Shri Lokesh Pradhan, Dr. Narendra Maharana, and others provided guidance.

The main purpose of this survey was to reach out to students who were irregular in attending school. The trainee teachers visited the homes of such students, held discussions with both students and parents, and collected information on the key reasons behind their absence. Through these interactions, many parents and students pledged to attend school regularly.

This initiative played an important role in increasing educational awareness and strengthening the bond between the school and its students.
