Malkangiri: A new branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) has been inaugurated at Padia, the sub-divisional headquarters of Malkangiri district. The branch has been newly established in front of the government group health center.
Present at the inauguration were Development Officer Ashwini Kumar Mahapatra, Group Health Officer Sheshadev Behera, and Padia Police Station Sub-Inspector Nirod Kumar Bagh. The new SBI branch is expected to serve over 30,000 people across eight panchayats in the Padia block.
The newly constructed branch building, developed under CIRF allocation, was decorated beautifully for the inauguration ceremony. The event was graced by the Chief General Manager of SBI Bhubaneswar, Dinesh Prusty, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Deputy General Manager Shamdhen Dorjee Lama, Deputy General Manager Sandeep Kumar Chabe, and Regional Manager Subash Chandra Behera.
It was stated that the local people would benefit from various services and facilities provided by this branch. After the inauguration, senior SBI officials visited the Padia Group Health Center, inquired about the available services, and held discussions on potential future support. They expressed intent to collaborate in enhancing healthcare services in tribal-dominated areas like Padia by providing necessary equipment and support in the coming days.
