Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary Marked with National Unity Day Celebrations

Navarangpur,6th Nov 2025:  On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and the celebration of National Unity Day, the district administration and district police department organized a Unity Run. Students from various schools in the district, youth associations, and other prominent groups actively participated. The run started from the local Sadashiv Tripathi Park and concluded at Police Padiya.

The District Collector, Dr. Maheshwar Swain, along with the esteemed guest, Inspector General of Police, Sandeep Sampad, flagged off the event, officially inaugurating the Unity Run. Other dignitaries present included Additional District Collector (General) Tapan Khuntia, Additional District Collector (Revenue) Bishwajit Chandra Barman, Additional Inspector General of Police Aditya Sen, Deputy Superintendent Krishna Chandra Bhattara, Navarangpur Police Station Officer Sambit Behera, District Information & Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera, District Sports Officer Sushant Kumar Nayak, Sameer Kumar Patra, Additional Magistrate Bharat Sahu, and Editor of District Sports Association Manoj Kumar Pattnayak.

After the run, a gathering was held at the Police Padiya premises. All religious leaders attended as guests. From the Hindu community, Raj Purohit Narsingh Tripathi was present; from the Muslim community, Mohammad Raja of Navarangpur Jama Masjid participated; and from the Christian community, Rev. Bablini Bishoyi took part, delivering messages of brotherhood and unity.

The District Collector, Dr. Swain, remarked that people of all religions in the district live in unity, which is a source of pride and honor. Similarly, Inspector General of Police Sandeep Sampad stated that the unity of all religions is helping the nation move forward on the path of progress.

During the program, esteemed guest Buddhi Jibi Kunjabihari Das Bharat Ran highlighted the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The session was conducted by Manoj Kumar Pattnayak. At the end of the program, all participants took a pledge for the unity and integrity of the country.

The successful completion of the program was supported by Assistant District Collectors Ashutosh Patra, Vinayak Khadang, Shiv Shankar Padhi, Representative District Collector Sameer Patra, Retired Inspector Dilli Rath, Niranjan Nayak, along with other officials of the district police administration.
