Nabarangpur: The Sant Surdas Jayanti was celebrated by the local ‘Saksham’ team at Ashakiran, Nabarangpur district. The event was presided over by District Coordinator Sujit Rath, with Prabhakar Patra as the chief speaker, who spoke about Sant Surdas’ biography.
Surdas was a prominent figure in the country, and after 1948, many films were made in various languages about his life. Prabhakar Patra, in his speech, emphasized that Sant Surdas’ life has been a source of inspiration for many. He also mentioned that his work had motivated a significant number of people across different communities.
Among the attendees were Swarlnalata Pattnayak, who was a special guest and shared her experience with the differently-abled. The event also featured speeches from Pratibha Dash, Parameswari Pahadi, Tejeswar Rao, Pritish Chandra, Ishwar Bandhura, and Daminiwala Nag.
At the conclusion of the event, Ashakiran President Jagannath Behera thanked everyone and encouraged them to continue promoting the values of devotion and unity as guided by Sant Surdas’ teachings.”
